Some people have never registered a domain name. For them, websites are mysterious–they’ve always understood that they can get their own website, but they’ve never taken the opportunity to learn how to do it. In all frankness, getting a personal web site for your blog is quite simple.
Interestingly, most Registrars (companies that let you register your own domain name) make the domain purchasing process quite user-friendly. If you’re really interested in how to register a domain name, do a google search and ask the question. Even simpler, go straight to a domain registration company and they’ll walk you through the process. Plan on paying $10-$20 for your domain. Keep in mind that most registrar will also offer you a hostig option in your domain package.
