Melena
May 27th, 2010
Occasionally hematemesis or melena may be prominent although massive gastrointestinal bleeding is rare. Roentgenography is of little value in diagnosing esophagitis but is helpful in excluding a malignant lesion. Since some patients with symptoms of heartburn and regurgitation have normal esophageal mucosa while other have severe esophagitis and even early stricture formation in the absence of typical symptoms esophagoscopy is required in order to establish a definitive diagnosis.ICD10 Certification is very useful service as it will help in the collections and also for the amount that is pending from the payers and patients
