Theology seminaries as live-in foundations

The organization of modern seminary college establishments was a direct outcome of Roman Catholic reforms of the Counter-Reformation after the Council of Trent which insisted on the betterment of the instruction of clergy through the foundation of Theology seminaries as live-in foundations under the direct control of elder clergy. Since at least the fourth century there have been Theology seminaries for the training of clergy, Online theology degree . The initial known group of Seminarians was gathered by St. Basil of Ancyra. The usage devolved out of general use in the Middle Ages, when almost all spiritual training was in religious residencies, and after, in the universities.
