The Delaware Water Gap has always been one of my favorite locations, so it was an easy decision. My father and I spent hours climbing the 3 mile long and almost completely vertical trail the whole way up the side of the mountains. The sights were beautiful, tall foamy waterfalls, exotic animals, colorful rocks and cliffs. My father, who has been hiking for longer than I’ve been alive, always encouraged me to try and find the best deal, especially in today’s economy. We spent weeks preparing our bags, prepping the tents and searching for the perfect deal on a set of boots for me. The discount hiking boots that we found were really put to the test on that trip, and passed with flying colors! Never let anyone tell you that cheap is poor quality, not only did they surpass my farthest expectations, but they looked really cute too!

Today is a big day for my snowboarding class. We are going to be hitting one of the bigger slopes for the first time. My instructor has told us that we just need to take it easy and enjoy ourselves. I really want to be able to snowboard well, and it’s a little bit embarrassing when I see the kids who aren’t even ten years old zipping down the mountain. But I’m going to ignore them and just concentrate on what I’m doing. It’s a beautiful day for it, my instructor says that the conditions are ideal. This is going to be a lot of fun.

I am a janitor at a large high school here in the valley. Yesterday, as I was cleaning after school, a panic-stricken young man banged on the door begging to be let in. I couldn’t imagine what could have him so riled up to get back into school. I really doubted that it was about homework. Apparently, he brought his new Vans Skate Shoes to school to show his buddies and then forgot to take them home again. They were left sitting out on his desk. I told him that he was very fortunate that they were still there because Vans are very popular around here. He just nodded his head and sighed.

I never really went fishing with my dad as a kid, but I regretted not going as an adult. I wanted to give my kids the experience I missed out on so when my first child was born I started learning how to fish. I discovered that I liked fishing for Bass and started reading books, watching YouTube videos, and taking classes at the local Bass Fishing Tackle store on how to best catch bass, what to use for bait, tackle, fishing rods and more. It was a great day when my first boy was old enough to take fishing with me!

We have always wanted a house boat so that we could stay on the water for as long as we wanted. We found an older boat that was perfect for us. We were going to fix it up and make it our own. We found a great little shop that carried all of the boating supplies that we needed and we began to fix it up. We are almost finished and hope to get it out on the water as soon as possible. I think that it will be a lot of fun for the entire family and it will be something that we can all enjoy.

Here comes Santa Claus. Christmas is right around the corner and I am hoping that I get a new pair of burton snowboard boots. That is definitely tops on my list and I am sure that I can find someone to get them for me. That is the main thing that I truly need. I can always think of some other things, but this is the one thing that I can’t live without. My other pair will not survive another season and I do a lot of snowboarding in a season. I am expecting to get out as soon as the first snow falls.
