2. This is known as pascal’s wager. Again, not very mature. What proof do you have of an eternity for me that is any different than what it was like before I existed? None.
God hurts us because he loves us. A great Christian response. Oh, but he gave me free advice will (but not too free because he is testing me and if I choose wrong based on no evidence but faith, I go to hell–which kind of undermines the free part of free will).
I am not choosing between belief and science. I am merely pointing out that if Jesus were God and loved us, he probably would have given us some useful information instead of rehashing moral principles already in existence and telling us to ignore our families and not save up for tomorrow.
Unfortunately, the big picture is this life. Ignoring this life is what is wrong with the way the religious handle science. We would have no advances if we took this attitude.

This group is out of touch with reality and if it thinks that the go slow approach will succeed it just needs to look back at the last ten years. The only reason why China is allowing its currency to depreciate is beause they believe it will help to fight inflation. There is a huge trade imbalance and nothing that they suggest is likely to fix that any time soon. Of course, they can afford to try the go slow approach because they are CEOs and make millions of dollars, but working class people, who need jobs, are the ones who are being devastated by this economic relationship advice for men. At its core its a one-sided relationship with China deriving much of the benefits. Economists and some politicians think that people in the U.S. should be grateful because we are getting cheap products, but what does that matter if this country is continually losing thousands of well-paying jobs? Year after year American companies move their production over there and transfer technology; this is a losing strategy in the long run and in the coming years the U.S. will lose its technological edge. The CEOs and upper management will still be rich even if the business fails, but the workers who lost their jobs will have a very bleak future. I honestly hope that these three lose it all and are forced to work as a greeter at WALMART.
