Green Rush to Development Finance Solar
Worldwide investment in clean energy rose some sixty p.c, to $148 bill last year. Investment in clean power from wind, solar and biofuels rose 3 times quicker in 2007 than anticipated by the UN Environmental Program, with wind energy captivating $50.2 bn., a 3rd of all clean energy investments. Investment in solar electricity surged by 254 % to $28.6 bn. last year. This “green gold rush ” is driven by the exploding fossil-fuel costs, and concerns over carbon-dioxide emissions that fuel global temperature rises.Projections show 3 to 4 times more electric power might be needed over the next fifty years to support continued growth in population and commercial output.
